Pay to Post - but in Bulk.
Sometimes, memberships or listing fees might not be ideal for some users. They may need to post regularly but not every month. And, that's where "Credits" comes in handy. Credits are a larger amount of money that a user deposits at once to avoid having to pay for each listing one by one.
1. Less Processing Fees
Listing fees alone might work out more expensive as the users would need to pay for credit card processing fees, such as Stripe’s 20p per transaction. Buying credits in bulk means processing fees can be much less.
2. Credit Card Security
With Credits, the sellers will be able to add their products whenever they want without having to enter their credit card information time and again. As long as they have credits on their account, they won't have to worry about the hassle of topping up their account every time they want to post/boost a listing. This way, they won't have to worry about having their credit info leaked or hacked.
Who should use this addon?
This addon is for those who want to avoid the hassle of transferring money and giving out credit card information to the website every time they want to post or boost something on the site.
Using Credits, the marketplace owner can let users pay a certain amount beforehand, and when the users want to post or boost something, they can use these credits.
Why use this?
Sometimes the store owner may not have the funds to post or boost their listing. But, if they have already paid a bulk amount for future use, then they don't have to worry about the funds for posting anything. They can easily use the amount they previously paid in bulk to post or boost any listing.
- Credits can be used by the sellers who need to post listings frequently, but don't want to enter their card details every time they post something. They can easily pay a bulk amount in advance and then use that bulk amount to post listings in the future.
- Such credits can be used for different additional options like boosting the listing or making a listing featured.
How it works
1. Buying Credits:
Once you’ve set-up your listing fees, you can set up a list of options for users to buy credits.
“Number of credits” indicates the number of credits the user will get.
The “Price” column indicates the amount the user needs to pay to get the credits.
2. Using Credits:
For members to be able to use credits, you need to set up the “number of credits” each listing fee plan consumes. This means if you created a listing fee for members to be able to post “Featured listings” and set the “Number of credits” to 10 then when a member who has credits in his account tries to make a listing “featured” 10 credits will be removed from their account. This goes with every other plan the number of credits required will be consumed if the member has enough.
3. How does a member buy more credits?:
If you have the credits module turned on and have listing fees set-up, when the member performs an action that requires payment they’ll have to option to choose to top-up their account using credit – as shown below.
- Lets users pay in bulk.
- Decreases the hassle of inputting the card information every time a user wants to post or boost a listing.
- Good for the users who need to post regularly, but not every month.
